PPL(H)

Private Pilot Licence (Helicopter) — a private helicopter pilot licence. Allows non-commercial flying and carrying passengers without payment.

PPL(H) is the entry-level EASA helicopter pilot licence. It requires at least 45 flight hours (on an ab-initio course), a Class 2 medical, 9 theoretical exams and a skill test with an examiner. PPL(H) holders may fly non-commercially and take passengers, but may not accept payment for the flight (limited pro-rata cost-sharing is allowed). PPL(H) is usually the first step towards further qualifications — Night, IR, CPL(H). Full details on the PPL(H) page.
