ATPL(H)

Airline Transport Pilot Licence (Helicopter) — the highest helicopter pilot licence. Allows acting as pilot-in-command in multi-pilot commercial operations.

ATPL(H) is the highest professional helicopter pilot licence under EASA. It requires at least 1000 hours flown as a pilot of helicopters (with restrictions on the types of flight), 14 expanded ATPL theoretical exams and a Class 1 medical. An ATPL(H) holder may act as pilot-in-command in multi-pilot commercial operations (airlines, offshore, multi-pilot HEMS). The typical Czech route to ATPL(H) is PPL(H) → CPL(H) → type rating → hours built up → completed ATPL theory.
