ATZ

Aerodrome Traffic Zone — the airspace around an uncontrolled aerodrome. Entry requires two-way radio and knowledge of local procedures.

An ATZ (Aerodrome Traffic Zone) is airspace around an uncontrolled aerodrome, typically 3 NM in radius and up to 4000 ft AGL. Two-way radio contact and knowledge of local procedures (arrival routes, circuit altitude, active runway, AFIS or Radio traffic advisory service) are mandatory. Pilots report on the appropriate frequency at least three minutes before entering.
