First Cabri G2 delivered to the Bulgarian Air Force Academy

We are proud to announce that we have successfully delivered the first Guimbal Cabri G2 helicopter to the Bulgarian Air Force Academy "Georgi Benkovski" (af-acad.bg) — the only military aviation academy in Bulgaria, training officers and pilots for the Bulgarian Armed Forces.

The Cabri G2 will serve as the primary training platform for new cadets in the academy's helicopter section. Its modern design, high safety standards (EASA CS-27 certification), Fenestron tail rotor and excellent autorotation characteristics make it the ideal aircraft for the first steps in helicopter training — which is exactly why the academy selected it after a thorough evaluation process.

The handover took place at the academy's base in the presence of the school's leadership, instructors and cadets. Jan Krčil and representatives from the helicopter manufacturer Hélicoptères Guimbal attended on behalf of lionheli.aero and, together with the academy's representatives, formally handed over the aircraft.

A second Cabri G2 for the Bulgarian Air Force Academy has already been ordered and delivery is planned within the coming months. The gradual fleet expansion will allow the academy to increase its ab-initio helicopter training capacity and prepare more pilots each year.

For lionheli.aero this contract is a significant milestone — the Cabri G2 is now in service with another state military institution in the region, confirming its position as the preferred aircraft for professional helicopter pilot training in Europe.

We wish our Bulgarian colleagues many safely flown hours and look forward to the continued cooperation.
