Cabri celebrates his eighteenth birthday

On this day, the Cabri G2 took its first flight.
On 31 March 2005 the Cabri G2 took to the skies. It is the world's most advanced two-seat light piston helicopter, produced by Hélicoptères Guimbal and powered by a piston engine. It was designed by Bruno Guimbal, a former Eurocopter engineer. Cabri G2s are mostly bought and used by flight schools for training purposes; however, some major operators and military organisations also have them in their fleet.
LHA members operating the Cabri G2 include HeliCentre, LION Helicopters s.r.o. and Heli NRW. This is what Robby Jansch from Heli NRW has to say: "I love to fly and, moreover, to instruct on the Cabri G2 — mainly because of its safety concept and the safety margins we have throughout the whole training process. It is a modern aircraft with its EPM and the option of a full glass cockpit, yet still an aircraft for which you need your hands on the controls. You can train for every aspect of your career, whether it is PPL, CPL or FI, and it also prepares you well for larger helicopters."
