Flying doesn't always fit into regular office hours. The weather changes, plans shift and the best conditions for a flight may come early in the morning, in the evening or at the weekend.
That is why we equipped our hangar in Hradec Králové with the Tapkey smart access system, which gives our students and customers more freedom when planning their flying.
The helicopter waits for you, even when we are not at the hangar
One of the main advantages of Tapkey is the option to set up individual digital hangar access for our students and customers directly through their mobile phone.
There is no need to pick up a physical key or to schedule your arrival around the times somebody from our team happens to be at the airport.
If you have a flight planned, we can prepare the helicopter in advance and activate access to the areas you need. You can then arrive at the airport on your own, unlock the hangar with your phone and take over the helicopter.
Early in the morning, in the evening, at the weekend or on a public holiday.
When needed, we can therefore give our students and customers access to the helicopter practically 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Flying follows the weather, not opening hours
For helicopter pilots, flexibility is particularly important.
A planned flight may have to be moved because of weather, visibility, wind or other operational circumstances. Equally, the perfect window for flying may appear exactly when a conventional flight school would be closed.
Digital access removes one of those obstacles.
Instead of asking „Will anyone be at the hangar?“ you can focus on the more important question: „Is today a good day to fly?“
No key handovers
Access outside regular operating hours used to mean arranging the handover of a physical key. Conventional keys are also not easy to manage – they can be lost, passed on to someone else, and returning them has to be handled in person.
With Tapkey we can assign an access permission to a specific user for a specific period of time.
We can activate, change or revoke access remotely. Nobody from our team has to drive to the airport just to hand over keys.
Your phone simply becomes the key.
Flexibility without compromising security
More flexibility does not mean less control over access to the hangar.
Tapkey lets us define where a particular user has access, how long their permission remains valid, and keep an overview of how individual access rights are used.
A student or customer gets access exactly where they need it, while the other parts of our facilities can stay secured.
Another step towards a more flexible flight school
Our long-term goal is to remove unnecessary restrictions from helicopter training and rental.
We aim to offer flexible flight scheduling and conditions that give pilots the greatest possible freedom. Digital 24/7 hangar access is another step in that direction.
If you are qualified to fly one of our helicopters, we want you to be able to use that qualification when it truly makes sense – and not be limited simply because nobody from our team is at the airport right now.
In the future we also plan to connect digital access even more closely with our booking system. A confirmed helicopter booking could then automatically create the matching access permission for the pilot for the required period.
