On this day the Cabri G2 took its first flight.
On 31 March 2005 the Cabri G2 took to the skies. It is the world’s most advanced two seater light engine helicopter produced by Hélicoptères Guimbal, and powered by a piston engine. Designed by Bruno Guimbal, a former Eurocopter engineer. Mostly bought and used by flight schools for training purposes, however some major airlines and military have them in their fleet.
LHA members who operate a Cabri G2 are HeliCentre, LION Helicopters s.r.o. and Heli NRW. This is what Robby Jansch from Heli NRW has to say ….. I love to fly and furthermore instruct on the Cabri G2. Mostly because of its safety concept and the safety margins we have through the whole training process. It is a modern aircraft with its EPM and the possibility of a full glass cockpit, but still an aircraft, for which you need your hands on the controls. You can train for every aspect of your career, be it PPL, CPL or FI, and it also prepares you well for the bigger helicopters.
