Our chief pilot Jan Krčil completed mountain flying training in Switzerland. He thus became one of a few Czech pilots possessing the MOU(H) Swiss qualification for flying in mountain environments.
He completed approximately 25 hours of training during May and June 2024. To meet the conditions, a minimum of 200 landings in mountainous environments are required, which include both low-lying areas up to 2000 m above sea level, as well as landings on glaciers with an altitude exceeding 4 km. He flew from Swiss Helicopters bases in Gruyere and Bern.
"Thanks to great instructors with a wealth of experience and a great environment, I was able to try conditions that we do not encounter in our latitudes. It is much easier to reach the limit of the capabilities of the machine and the pilot, and it is always essential to be able to make the right decision. The Swiss training system is excellent sophisticated and is based on the broad experience of local pilots. We want to apply the new knowledge to our training and take our students one step further."
