Flying after sunset
The NIT (Night Rating) extends your PPL(H) or CPL(H) with the ability to conduct VFR flights at night. Once obtained, you may legally fly from sunset to sunrise — for operational flexibility, longer summer trips, or simply for the joy of seeing the night landscape from the air.
NIT is one of the fastest and most affordable extensions of your licence. The exact price depends on the number of flight hours needed — with us you only pay for actual time in the air.
During a full training course, the difference between per-minute and 6-minute billing adds up to tens of thousands of crowns. With us, you only pay for actual flight time.
No. NIT is required only for flights after the official end of civil twilight. Until then a daytime PPL(H) is enough.
No. NIT is a night rating under VFR (visual flight rules). For instrument flying a separate IR(H) rating is required.
Ideal enrolment is in late summer or autumn, when darkness comes earlier and you can fly on weekday evenings after work.
Not required, but we recommend spreading it over no more than 2 months so your eyes and orientation stay well trained.
