Type rating — EC120 Colibri
Single-turbine helicopter for versatile operations
The EC120 Colibri type rating is for pilots who already hold a valid PPL(H) or CPL(H) licence and want to gain a qualification on this single-turbine helicopter. The course is available subject to aircraft availability — ideally on the client's own aircraft, or based on current helicopter availability with us.
Entry requirements
- Valid PPL(H) or CPL(H) licence
- Valid medical certificate
- English at least ICAO 4 level (documentation in English)
- Type rating certificate on another helicopter (depending on previous type)
- Own EC120 helicopter or confirmed aircraft availability

Price and fair billing
Course price depends on flight hours, type rating instructor (TRI) time and aircraft availability. When training on your own aircraft, we charge only for instructor time and preparation. We'll provide a no-obligation quote tailored to your situation.
During a full training course, the difference between per-minute and 6-minute billing adds up to tens of thousands of crowns. With us, you only pay for actual flight time.

Not necessarily, but it makes organisation much easier. If you don't own one, we will try to arrange training based on current aircraft availability with us or within our network.
What is the typical scope of flight training?
Scope depends on your previous experience, especially with turbine helicopters. It usually involves several flight hours plus theoretical preparation.
What licence is required?
You need a valid PPL(H) or CPL(H) for the EC120 type rating. Previous turbine experience is not required, but it will speed up the course.
Where does the theoretical part take place?
Theoretical training is arranged individually by agreement — online, at our premises or directly at the aircraft.
