External Load Flight Training
From 2–14 November 2026, we are planning HESLO 1 and 2 training focused on safe and precise external load operations.
The training takes place in a modern Guimbal Cabri G2 helicopter, whose flight characteristics and low operating costs make it an ideal platform for mastering external load operations before progressing to larger turbine helicopters.
The course is led by an experienced instructor with daily hands-on experience in external load operations on the Cabri G2, AS350 B3 and Super Puma. His experience comes primarily from the demanding environment of the Swiss Alps, including construction work, material transport, timber extraction, game recovery and aerial firefighting. The training therefore covers not only piloting techniques, but also practical procedures and experience applicable to real-world external load operations.
Participant requirements
minimum PPL(H) licence,
valid Guimbal Cabri G2 type rating,
at least 10 flight hours on the Cabri G2 before the start of the course.
The dates are provisional. The detailed schedule will be confirmed based on helicopter and instructor availability and may change depending on weather and operational conditions.
